What is government? What should government do? Do we need government? What type of government is the 'best' type? How democratic is the American Constitution? How is our government different from governments in other countries? How are elections won? How are they lost? Does the majority always win? Who decides what is legal and what is not? How much actual power does our President have? What exactly is the point of political parties? Are they necessary? How does the media play a role in politics? How does money play a role in politics? Why is political campaigning so necessary? Who, outside of the government, influences policymaking? Should our government have secrets? Why or why not? Is there anything you would change about the structure of our government? All of these are questions and more will be answered throughout my course on United States Government. I am looking forward to teaching each and every one of you about the successes and failures of the United States Government because
they run this.
Also, please please please use this site as much as possible to ask about anything you might not have understood in class or simply to voice your opinion about an issue. I should not have to mention this, but obviously keep it classroom rated. There will be consequences for ANY AND ALL offenders and most likely they will affect the entire class, so play nice.
